Canadians Invited to Vote for the Winning Community

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 5, 2007) - The Kraft Hockeyville 2007 roster has been trimmed to ten communities vying for the title of Canada's most passionate hockey community. The top ten communities who made it to the next round of judging were unveiled during the Kraft Hockeyville prime-time television show on CBC Television yesterday.As voted by the Canadian public, the top five communities and the winning community will be featured on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada over the next two consecutive Saturdays."We were amazed with the quality of the entries this year. Communities from across Canada put their hearts and souls into creating videos that showed how much hockey spirit their community embodies," said Dino Bianco, President of Kraft Canada. "There are many deserving communities, with great stories and hockey passion."

Canadians can vote for their favourite hockey community within the Top 10 until March 9, 2007 at 11 a.m. EST online at www.cbc.ca/hockeyville. Tune in next Saturday, March 10, 2007 to Hockey Night in Canada where the Top 5 communities will be announced. Canadians will then have one more week to vote for their favourite hockey community within the Top 5 following the Top 5 announcement on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada until March 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. EST. The winning Kraft Hockeyville 2007 community will be named live on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada on March 17, 2007, and will be featured in a CBC Television special to air in the fall.

The winning Kraft Hockeyville 2007 community will receive the Kraft Hockeyville 2007 title and trophy, host a one-of-a-kind NHL hockey event, featuring NHL players both in the community and in on-ice action, and receive $50,000 to be used for upgrades to the publicly-owned arena that the winning community endorses.
