Marg Bailey, the City of Vernon’s deputy chief administrative officer, has received the professional award for community service from the Local Government Management Association of B.C. Bailey has been with the city for 25 years, starting first as a lifeguard. She was nominated by the Thompson-Okanagan Local Government Management Association. “The past few years at Vernon city hall have been extremely challenging in many ways, and Marg has always presented herself with the highest degree of professionalism,” states the nomination. “She has demonstrated to everyone her commitment to the city, remaining calm and caring throughout difficult times, while continuing to encourage employees and make the best out of difficult situations.”
