The Corporation of the City of Vernon invites submissions of Expressions of Interest from interested architectural firms who wish to be considered for the provision of professional services for the design of the new Library and Municipal Offices Building. The Expressions of Interest will be used for the purpose of pre-qualifying architectural firms to respond to a Request for Proposal to undertake this project.
The Okanagan Regional Library will be a full partner in the Technical Steering Committee. The 28 million dollar project consists of the new 3 storey, 6178 sq/m. / 66,500 sq. ft. building, with below grade parking, including offsite upgrades to facilitate access to the new and existing civic buildings and landscape design. The site is located, within the thcivic block perimeter of downtown Vernon - 3400 block of 30 Street. The current site is a paved parking lot which holds 60 parking spaces. The historical civic block encompasses various stand alone buildings housing the library, museum, City Hall and RCMP detachment. The property site plays a significant role as it hosts a uniquely landscaped and pedestrian urban space within the downtown community.
Major components will include:
First Floor: Common Foyer, washroom, loading area access, Okanagan Regional Library space
Second & Third Floors: Municipal Offices, other community & public sector group offices. Partially or Fully below Grade Parking: 100 stall requirement
