When Vernon's new library is built it will be the first building the Okanagan Regional Library Board owns rather than leases. Board Chair Carol Williams says, the library will spend up to nine million dollars for the strata title of their portion of the new building. So far possible partners for sharing the building with the city are the RCMP and the Art Gallery Williams says, the deal with the city should be finalized by the fall and the new library is expected to be in use by early 2009.
