A new poll shows little support in the Okanagan for the proposed privatization of maintenance and houskeeping services at two local hospitals.
In a survey of 400 Kelowna and Vernon residents, nearly two-thirds - or 63 percent - said they would trust public employees to do the job.
The Hospital Employees Union, who conducted the survey, says privatizing the services would result in the loss of 300 jobs in the both Kelowna and Vernon.
