The Osoyoos Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library has gone wireless. The new location in the Sonora Community Centre opened earlier this week with free wireless Internet connection. The ORE first offered wireless Internet connection to the public in the Oliver Branch in June. Both the Oliver anti the Osoyoos branches continue to provide hard-wired free Internet access to the public via library-owned personal computers. The additional free wireless access, however, means that anyone with a compatible laptop can bring their computer into the library and search the Internet without having to wait for a library terminal. Customers can use their laptops in the library or in immediate surrounding area, such as the parking lot. Free wireless access is only available during library open hours and a one hour time limit is in place to ensure everyone has a chance to use the Internet.
