No Plans for Downtown Property

The City of Vernon has allocated $1.4 million dollars for the purchase of two downtown properties.Councillor Pat Cochrane says, if they have no plans as to what is going on the land, they shouldn't be buying them."I think it's a deal the city could easily pass up. The OCP is a little bit of a red herring. If it's downtown there needs to be some sort of commercial and residential use."The sale of the properties on 31st avenue and 32nd avenue to the city are contingent on whether Vernon Medical relocates to a new building to be developed on the Bennett Parking lot.
