Concerns about city bylaw officers and the proposed $31 million civic complex will be front and centre at a meeting of the Vernon Taxpayers Association this week. Spokesman Tony Stamboulieh says his group was denied a request to appear as a delegation at a previous Vernon council meeting, wanting to talk about the bylaw officers. He tells KISS FM, " We're very concerned about the nature and character of bylaw enforcement as it has envolved recently. There have been a lot of complaints about the way enforcement ahs been carried out."Stamboulieh is also calling on the city to postpone the planned January referendum for the civic-library complex. He says it should be put-off until after the official community plan is completed next year. " For people on council to have the OCP going and at the same time, tinkering before the results are put out, with specific pieces of real estate, seems to be counter-productive."The taxpayers group holds its meeting Tuesday night (7pm) at the Schubert Centre.
