Beardsell Withdraws from City Committees

A Vernon councillor has taken action after being left off the Greater Vernon Services Committee next year.Barry Beardsell says he won't accept appointments made by the mayor, to serve on the city's finance and audit committees. Beardsell is upset he wasn't consulted about the change by Wayne Lippert prior to last week's announcement. 'What I'm saying is he's let on that he has consulted with everybody, he did not consult with me. That's not the truth.' Beardsell says he won't resign over the matter, but the three term councillor hasn't decided if he will seek re-election in 2008.Mayor Lippert says he felt it was time for other council members to serve on GVSC.
