According to statistics from 2006 released by the province, Penticton’s library received just over $8 less in per capita funding than other provincial libraries.The Penticton Public Library, which served 4,655 people per week in 2006, received $26.43 local per capita tax support where the average for B.C. libraries was $34.64. Since 1996 over 2.5 million have visited the Penticton library.
Now Vernon appears to be lumped in with the Okanagan region in the Provincial Stats and this region received $30.97 local per capita tax support,
