A location has been found for a permanent homeless shelter in Vernon. Craig Changfoot with BC Housing says, the Chinese FreeMason's building on 33rd st has been purchased for $480,000. He says, BC Housing is also going to invest $600,00 in the building on renovations. The shelter will have room for 25 people with separate entrances and rooms for men and women. The previous homeless shelter in Vernon closed last May due to lack of resources.
