The city of Vernon's long term plan for a highway project is the latest target for the Vernon
Taxpayers Association.Spokesman Tony Stamboulieh accuses the city of trying to ram the western bypass plan through, without getting real input. "There are other options and they need to be discussed openly. This is a very important issue and here we go again. They're trying to ram things through." Despite the group's concerns, the city feels it is giving the public plenty of opportunity to comment on the Transportation Plan. A public consultation process will run from February 11 to 29 and will include four open houses where residents can complete a survey. There will also be a public input session as part of the March 25-th council meeting. The city is looking to protect a corridor for the bypass in its 25 year plan.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
