No arbitration this time! Both sides are saying there was a positive effort made to ratify the new contract for City of Vernon firefighters. The city of Vernon and their unionized firefighters have reached a new deal. The firefighters will get a wage increase of 13.5 per cent over 3 years. Mayor Wayne Lippert says the outcome speaks to the dedication and hard work demonstrated daily by the firefighters and the value the City places on it. IAFF President, Brent Bond says a big step was taken to improve labour management relations between the two sides. He says the contract also includes provisions to increase job safety and ultimately improved service for the community.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
