RDOS Chair Rejects Idea of a Mayors Report

The chair of the Regional District Okanagan Similkameen says he doesn't support Vernon city council's motion for the mayors to prepare their own report on regional governance. Dan Ashton says there is a task force committee responsible for putting forward a report to the Minister of Community Services, and that's good enough. "They have been at the table all the way along. We understand their concerns and those concerns hopefully will be addressed in the report. But I think right now it should be conducted as per what was decided by the whole committee, not just the mayors." The task force will present their draft report on March 19th, and vice chair Jerry Oglow says everyone will be able to offer their input before it is submitted to the Minister.
