Vernon Moving to Darkside meeting 6:30 PM on Monday. Coldstream Darkside meeting at 7 PM !

NOTICE OF SPECIAL IN-CAMERA MEETING OF COUNCIL
Date: Monday, March 3, 2008 6:30 PM
Vernon City Council Chambers

90 (1) A part of a council meeting may be closed to the public if the subject matter being considered relates to or is one or more of the following:
(d) the security of the property of the municipality;
(k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public;

-------------------------------

At 7 pm at Coldstream Chambers,
their Council will be holding a Darkside meeting (in camera) on March 3 under the following provisions of the Community Charter.

(a) personal information about an identifiable individual who holds or is being considered for a position as an officer, employee or agent of the municipality or another position appointed by the municipality;
(g) litigation or potential litigation affecting the municipality;
-----------------------
Don Quixote Notes: Under the Community Charter all meetings must start in the open and a resolution is passed (or rejected?) to move into In Camera. (Darkside) Both meetings are open to the public and media until they pass that resolution.

These meetings obviously have different agendas as they are being held under different sections of the Charter. Any thought that Vernon Council could pass their 'moving to Darkside resolution' at 6:30 and then join the Coldstream meeting in joint session at 7 PM is simply a figment in the imagination of the conspiratorial mind of Don Quixote. The different sections of the intended resolutions would preclude this from legally happening. (Coldstream posted their notice of special meeting and all required notices on their website on Friday, Vernon posted the in-camera meeting only on their bulletin board outside at City Hall, (No web Posting yet).
