Another Sister City to be Decided on Monday

The City of Vernon is twinned with:

• Tavullia, Italy
• Modesto, California
• Saint-Lambert, Quebec
• Tome, Japan

Frankenburg am Hausruck in Austria may be formally chosen as our 5th sister city on Monday.
Itia is a municipality in the district of Vöcklabruck in Upper Austria, Austria. with a population of 4947 according to Wikipedia. Their website is at click here.

It also looks like signposts showing directions to our existing sister cities at a cost of $2000 per sign will be debated on Monday.

As posted earlier Kelowna received $50,000 as “The government is encouraging communities in the province to twin with our friends over in Asia,”

Perhaps the Vernon Grants officer can apply for some of this money so we can enhance our relationship with our Asian Sister City of Tome, Japan.
