Vernon RCMP have been sharing information with the Lower Mainland's Integrated Homicide Investigative Team regarding the murder of Lou Gauthier nearly two weeks ago. Inspector Steve McVarnock says the investigation is still looking at whether an organized crime group like the Independent Soldiers are involved in the murder. Police say at this point, connections haven't been made between the twelve targeted killings in Metro Vancouver this year and the murder in Vernon.
