Residents say keep Suicide Hill open

107.5 KISSFM Pete McIntyre

It appears a majority of East Hill residents don't want Suicide Hill closed to traffic, but opinions are mixed on a new roundabout in that area. An input session on $1.5 million in proposed traffic changes drew about 100 residents to city hall Thursday night. Most speakers disagreed with closing Suicide Hill to vehicles, saying it will only restrict access into East Hill, and create problems on other nearby streets. The plan for a traffic circle at 32-nd Avenue and Pleasant Valley Road drew far more debate with some speaking in favour, others saying the current four way stop is good, and others suggesting a traffic light. The RCMP also got rapped by a few people who feel more enforcement of speeding and other offences could stop the problems. The changes will be debated by city council June 9.

It's called Suicide Hill but would closing down the Vernon street be over-kill?

Looks like council and administration screwed up again-$1.5 million for what people do not want-no wonder that council and administration could not get it right for the civic complex and that was only $30million!
