She Cared enough to come !

8:00 am at the Schubert Centre, Carole James, leader of the NDP Opposition, and Adrian Dix, Opposition Health critic, met with citizens concerned about health care at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. They came to Vernon on a fact finding mission to hear from citizens and health care professionals, following up on the locally led successful petition campaign. They invited members of the Vernon and Districts Taxpayers' Association as well as health care professionals to participate in the dialogue. Following the Schubert Centre meeting, there was a press conference outside Vernon Jubilee Hospital at 9:30 am .

Above are some pictures from the two meetings. The one from inside the Shubert Centre shows Carole James flanked by Adrian Dix, Opposition Health and Alice Brown local NDP candidate for the federal M.P.s seat of Colin Mayes. The others are media scrum taken outside the hospital with the media interviewing the two NDP provincial members and the other of the media interviewing the Vernon and Districts Taxpayer spokesman Tony Stamboulieh whose group spearheaded the Hospital petition that has now topped 18,600. To illustrate the significance of this number of signatures contrast this with the number of voters in the last Provincial Election!

Yeah, so what! Come the next election the sad truth of the matter is that party politics will rule the day and once again the people that stupidly vote this way time and time again will suffer from more of the same neglect at the hands of whoever wins.

Voters had better wise up and pick a candidate that will represent this constituency better in Victoria, in Ottawa, and in City Hall.

Otherwise, heaven help you when you get sick.
