Sex offender may be in Okanagan

by Castanet Staff -Jun 13, 2008

He has family in the area and that's why RCMP have issued a warning that a repeat sex offender is on the loose. Roger Dale Badour, 59, walked away from a Vancouver halfway house June 7. He was wrapping up a seven year sentence for sexual assault. Badour has a lengthy criminal record and is considered a high-risk sex offender. His victims were women with mental challenges and or substance abuse problems. Vernon RCMP say it's possible Badour could be hiding in the Okanagan. "There is a possibility that Badour could be headed for the Okanagan to get in touch with past family contacts that live in the area. That's why the public is being alerted," says Vernon RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk. Badour is described as a white male, 5’7”or 172cm tall and weighs 199 lbs, or 90 kgs, with grey hair and blue eyes.
