Vernon man causes meeting controversy

107.5 KISSFM Pete McIntyre

There could be fireworks over some new party members at Saturday's annual meeting of the B-C Conservative party in Kamloops. Party director Miles Lehn of Vernon signed up 56 new members by paying their fees with his own credit card and collecting cash from the people later. But party leader Wilf Hanni says members have to pay for their own memberships, and there's no way to determine if the people Lehn signed up exist or even want to be members. He says the 56 members will be barred from the meeting, but Lehn insists they will be there.
