A new two million dollar piece of equipment is being put to good use at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Health Minister George Abbott was among a number of government officials on hand Thursday to introduce the new 64 Slice CT Scanner. Abbott says it will provide faster, more detailed scans allowing doctors to detect life threatening illnesses like cancer at earlier stages. The hospital performs around 30-40 scans a day. The new scanner has also led to Interior Health hiring three new radiologists and a technologist. The Health Ministry provided 60 percent of the funding while the regional hospital district provided the other 40 percent.

Code purple continues
No talk or confirmation by Abbot OR Christenson of additional 'acute care beds' and a date for them!!
Just two additional shells without any commitment to include the required acute care beds in those shells!!
What people need to be informed about a Catscan is the horrendous amount of radioactivity it gives out !!
NOT A SAFE PROCEDURE!
So Mr Christenson where is our MRI machine for our Regional hospital???
