In spite of an 18,000+ signature petition submitted by the Vernon & Districts Taxpayers' Association to George Abbott, Health Minister, regarding the dire situation at Vernon Jubilee Regional Hospital due to the lack sufficient acute care beds, operating rooms and an MRI machine, we have had no action from the Minister. Furthermore, a request on July 6, 2008, to our MLA, Tom Christensen, for information regarding Infusion Health and its role in our health care system has been met by silence.
The Vernon & Districts Taxpayers' Association invites all citizens who have been victimized by these shortages and who have had to sleep in corridors or worse to share their story with the Association. We are putting together a fact file in our pursuit of a good health care service.
Citizens are invited to email their stories to antonystam@shaw.ca or call Tony 250-260-1082
