Casino on council’s agenda

Kamloops This Week:

City council will get its first look at plans for the new downtown Lake City Casino at Tuesday’s meeting. The rezoning application from Gateway Casinos and Entertainment shows it is proposing a 45,000 square-foot casino with a two-level, 220-stall underground parkade located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Lorne Street. Gateway operates the current 4,000 square-foot Lake City Casino in the Executive Inn at Fifth and Victoria. A preliminary design shows the new casino will have a bar, a restaurant, a gaming floor, poker rooms and slot machines. City staff are recommending council authorize the application move to a public hearing.
