It hasn't been a good month for some of the Campbell administration's favourite outsourcing contractors. Maximus Inc. - the American firm that administers PharmaCare and British Columbia's Medical Services Plan - has agreed to pay $5 million to the City of Houston after designing "a problem-plagued computer system" for its municipal courts. And EDS Inc. - which was awarded a controversial contract by the to maximize British Columbia's revenue collection services - got into a spot of trouble when the News of the World reported the firm had "confessed to losing a portable hard-drive disk containing sensitive private information about" United Kingdom jail governors and guards.
