The broadcast consortium issued their decision this afternoon. The French language debate will take place Wednesday Oct. 1 and the English language debate will be Thursday Oct. 2. The French debate will be moderated by journalist Stephan Bureau and the English debate will be moderated by Steve Paikin of TVO. On the matter of the Green Party, the consortium of broadcasters will issue the following statement: “The Consortium approached the parties to explore the possibility of including the Green Party in all or part of the Leaders' Debates. However, three parties opposed their inclusion and it became clear that if the Green Party were included, there would be no Leaders' Debates.

Canadians should vote Green En Masse as a message to the moron Harper Bushs' little washerwoman who has billions to spend on killing people in foreign adventures but does not spend a nickel to ensure that old folks do not have to sleep in closets and corridors at the end of their days in hospitals that are underfunded

I agree that the GREEN should be able to debate the issues.
However, sadly, the GREEN are far too closely tide to the Liberals. Example..Ms MAY has even congratulated Liberal candidates for getting nominated also she openly endorsed DION as being a good prime minister..Neither will get my vote.
I invite every Canadian who cares about democracy to oppose this decision forcefully and immediately. Oh Canada, where are you? What is happening to our democracy when media consortium decide which parties are allowed to speak?
If Mr. Mayes and Ms. Brown, the respective Conservative and NDP candidates in this riding care about democracy, they should immediately call on their leaders to let May debate. This makes a sham of democracy and will aid in making many voters change colours this fall election.
