Nicol gets 1000 more votes

107.5 KISSFM Pete McIntyre:

It won't affect the outcome, but one of the Vernon council candidates got a thousand more votes than originally reported. Patrick Nicol was listed as having 357 votes from the Ellison polling station after Saturday's vote, but his total was actually 1,357. City elections officer Patti Bridal says it was due to a reporting error by a polling clerk when the results were relayed over the phone. Bridal points out that why the results when posted on election night are classified as 'preliminary' and are not official until four days after the event when everything has been reviewed. The correction means Nicol, who topped the polls regardless of the glitch, ended up with more than 5,200 votes, 13-hundred more than second place finisher Buffy Baumbrough.

Don Quixote Note: There were 1867 votes at Ellison for the 6 Candidates for Mayor. Coun. Nicol with his adjusted 1357 votes received 72.6% of this vote.
