New owner for KISS FM

105.7 KISSFM:

One of BC's best known companies has taken over Vernon's longest serving radio station. As of today, KISS FM is under the ownership of the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group. The Kamloops based company acquired the station from Rogers Broadcasting which had owned it since 1989. The deal has been in the works since last May, but the CRTC gave its approval to the sale last month. The station first went on the air in 1947, as CJIB AM. KISS FM General manager Patrick Nicol says the KISS team remains the same, and is excited about the future. Pattison owns 28 other radio stations, and three TV stations, in BC and Alberta. Among the other radio outlets are Power 104 and B103 in Kelowna, and B100, CIFM and CFJC TV in Kamloops.
