Vernon council is still fired about the plan to restructure fire rescue services in the city. A Vernon councillor says he's frustrated with the stagnant discussions regarding restructuring fire services. Jack Gilroy says management structure would change but that's it, if all the fire departments in Vernon were inter grated. The former Deputy Fire Chief says Vernon is the only city in the Province that contracts its fire services. Critics of the plan to inter grate all the fire departments say it's too costly but councillor Gilroy says it would be a one time tax increase of $80 dollars this year for Okanagan Landing residents. Gilroy says the only change would be management restructuring as all the fire departments would have the same chief.
