Vernon's Mayor says the curtailments at Tolko Industries seven lumber operations affect about three hundred local workers.Wayne Lippert says the company is working to keep the plants open and viable. Lippert says unlike the glass plant and Big Foot it's not a permanent shut down. As for finding another use for the glass plant, Lippert says Owens- Illinois hasn't stated what the plans are for the Lavington building. Employees in Lavington, Armstrong and High Level begin a two week shutdown on Monday.In all, about 13-hundred employees are affected.
