A half dozen injuries were reported after a two car crash which closed part of the road from Silver Star in the North Okanagan over the weekend. A crash between a Honda and a Toyota in the area of Kettleston Road and Silver Star Road just before 5 p.m. Sunday closed the only road off the mountain for almost four hours, leaving hundreds of skiers and snowboarders stuck on the mountain as emergency officials cleared the scene. Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says there were two occupants in the Honda and four in the Toyota, all of whom were injured. “The female driver from the Honda was trapped and had to be removed with the Jaws of Life,” says Molendyk. He says traffic was finally moving again at around 9 p.m., but not before causing a massive back-up.
