The Greens will be on the ballot in Vernon-Monashee May 12th. After taking the weekend to think about it, Huguette Allen has decided to run. She says the major reason is because of the "excellent results" she had in the last federal election. Allen says if elected she will work to stop the privatization of BC's rivers and power, the protect the public healthcare system, and protect water for all British Columbians. She says people point to the economic crisis and local industry closures as yet another proof that it's more important to change our leaders than our light bulbs.Already on the May 12th ballot, NDP Candidate, Mark Olsen and the Liberal's Eric Foster.

"Excellent results"? Huguette ran a wonderful campaign, full of energy and enthusiasm. She actually won 3 polls - 75 Mabel Lake (where she lives), 192 Cherryville & 158 Vernon. Only a politician could label 3 / 216 "excellent".
