Vernon council has given the go-ahead to allow residents to keep urban hens. Sam Zahari, who brought the proposal to the city says she's excited her chickens are now legal. Bus she says there should be a limit on how may hens can be kept. Roosters need not apply however, the bylaw will be written to exclude the feathered alarm clocks. Vernon is on the heels of Vancouver which recently approved urban hens.
