Peter McIntyre Wednesday, 13 May 2009 107.5 KISSFM:
Lumby residents could be voting in a by-election this summer. Village administrator Frank Kosa says current mayor Eric Foster is expected to hand in his resignation this week after becoming Vernon Monashee MLA. Kosa says once that happens, a nomination process would begin and if there's more than one candidate a by-election would be held around August 15.Kosa has heard several people are interested, including current council members (see inset) who would have to resign as councillors before running. He says the election would cost the taxpayers about $5,000.
