Peter McIntyre Wednesday, 13 May 2009 107.5 KISSFM:
There were 62 applicants for the job, but in the end a local resident has been chosen as the new general manager of the O'Keefe Ranch. Catherine Lord, who formerly worked in the finance departments for the city of Vernon and District of Coldstream, takes over the position next Tuesday. Lord tells KISS FM, " I think the big thing were looking at with the ranch is sustainability. That's got to be the number one priority. We have to find a way to make the ranch sustainable without going back to the city all the time." Lord ---a former board member of the ranch -- plans to bring in events, and try different programs to boost attendance at the city owned heritage attraction which had a difficult year in 2008. Board vice president Jim McEwan says Lord knows the ranch, and what's needed to make it successful.
