A $100 million resort development is moving ahead in the hills near Vernon. Sparkling Hill Resort and Wellness Hotel, next to Predator Ridge, has announced it will open in March 2010. “Concrete pouring is nearing completion, enabling the exterior design to take shape,” said Hans-Peter Mayr, chief executive officer. “Framing is well under-way with windows to be placed in the near future to seal the weather out so the Swarovski Crystal design elements can take shape in the guest rooms, restaurants, meeting rooms and wellness areas of the resort.” Sparkling Hill Resort will be the first hotel in North America to incorporate Swarovski Crystal elements into aspects of its design. With the construction of the resort on schedule, marketing and branding have become the priority. Andy Altmayer, head of innovation for Swarovski Crystal, has designed a logo to reflect the beauty and serenity of the landscape. A new website has also been launched to promote the resort. “The resort will be a visual and architectural masterpiece and we believe will become one of the world’s most recognized resort destinations,” said Mayr. “Sparkling Hill Resort will be ready to present to the world in March of 2010. By launching the new brand and website now, we have started to bring the world closer.”
