For the 32nd year, North Okanagan Realtors hit the streets to collect food bank donations. Greater Vernon organizer, Rob Shaw says they're very happy with the result of Wednesday's Food Drive. "We have managed to collect more than last year when we estimated 15 tons. It looks to be 16 to 17 tons of groceries. It's a wonderful result and a credit to everyone in the community." Shaw says donations continue to come in and are being welcomed. "We're getting calls from people that got missed, saying, 'Can we pick it up, or can we drop it off at a real estate office?' By all means. We're still delivering that to the Salvation Army Food Bank." Shaw says it's gratifying that people have stepped up to support the community and their neighbors who are having difficult times. Demand at the Vernon food bank is up 26 percent this year.Food drives were also held in Enderby, Armstrong and Lumby.
