Some details of the planned Olympic Torch relay through Vernon came out after Monday's city council meeting. Council has approved ten-thousand dollars for toilets at Polson Park, where a celebration will be held when the torch comes through on January 26th. Councillor Jack Gilroy says that's because money wasn't spent on building toilets in the park earlier this year. Gilroy says the money will also be spent on other things, including traffic control. 69-thousand-dollars is being spent on the Vernon celebration with 40-grand from VANOC and 15-grand from Sports BC. He says Coldstream council didn't cough up an expected 35-hundred dollars.

Interestingly, Vernon did not cough up the expected $5,000 for Coldstream's torch celebration festivities either.
