The grand opening of a new multi million dollar resort south of Vernon will delayed by a few weeks. Sparkling Hill Resort CEO Hans-Peter Mayr says they will open April 30 instead of in March to allow them to include all the amenities including a minus 110 degree Celsius cold sauna. He says the unit has taken longer to assemble noting it was built in Germany, then dismantled and shipped in pieces. Mayr says they're accepting room reservations starting May 20. The 100 million dollar luxury resort overlooking Okanagan Lake and next to Predator Ridge Resort, will have 152 guest rooms and a wellness area. It's expected to draw clients from Canada, the U-S, Europe and Asia. The 55 million dollar building permit issued two years ago was the largest in the city of Vernon's history.
