More than 300 forest industry workers in Armstrong and the Williams Lake area will be getting more unwanted time off the job. Due to ongoing poor market conditions, Vernon based Tolko Industries has announced an extension to shut-downs at the Armstrong and Soda Creek (near Williams Lake) stud-mill divisions. The holiday curtailments that started December 19th, have been extended by at least two more weeks at both operations. Company officials say a return to work will depend on market and cost improvements.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
