RCMP NEWS RELEASE: Tue Jan 19 14:16:00 PST 2010
Yesterday morning officers from the Armstrong office of the Vernon/North Okanagan detachment and workers from the Ministry of Children and Families attended a residence in the 3300 block of Sidney Cres acting on information of possible risks to a 21 month child at the residence. When they arrived they discovered there were four adults and a 21 month old and a 12 year old child living in the house. There was also an active grow operation as well. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and 128 plants as well as packaged marihuana were seized from the residence. The adults, two males and two females were arrested and all are expected to face charges at a later date. The police were very concerned to find the children as well as a pregnant woman living in the residence of with the grow operation. The children are being looked after by the Ministry of Children and Families at the present time.
