At risk youth will have a place to go for at least another year. The Junction Literacy and Youth Centre in Vernon has funding to stay open for another year. Executive Director, Debbie Schiller says the province has come through with a 50-thousand dollar gaming grant. Schiller says the funding from the city allowed them to stay open till this grant came through, but they really need to find core funding because they don't know what will happen with gaming grants next year. Schiller says year to year funding is no way to run any kind of centre. She says they really needed the money because they recently lost close to 10-thousand dollars when the federal government cut the Community Access Program.
