Another prolific offender behind bars

Police in Vernon have another prolific offender behind bars. Robert Wayne Lapp was arrested Thursday morning in connection with a break and enter at a business in the 3100 block of 48th Avenue. Police say they received a report of a break and enter at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday. RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk says a baker inside the business saw a male break the window, reach inside and unlock the door. "The employee yelled at the suspect who turned and ran to a waiting vehicle," says Molendyk. "The witness was able to get a license plate number as the car drove away. Police attended the registered owner's residence and located three people inside." Molendyk says, as a result of the investigation, Lapp, 28, was arrested. Lapp was released from jail a week ago. He was on parole with conditions. "His parole has been revoked and he is being returned back to prison. Further charges could be laid at a later date." This is the third prolific offender arrested by Vernon police in the last three days.
