Good Friday will see Okanagan apple growers selling their high quality product for 12-cents a pound, which they say is the amount of money the average producer gets for apples these days.That's 60-cents for a 5-pound bag--something that would cost you about 7-dollars in a grocery store.Officials at the B-C Fruit Growers Association say tomorrow morning's special sale at the Kelowna Farmer's Market at Springfield and Dilworth is happening to demonstrate the growers' plight. They say prices are particularly low this year because of poor weather, and cheap U-S apple imports.
