Purse pinched in Polson Park

A purse snatching is being investigated by RCMP in the North Okanagan. An elderly lady was standing near the back of her vehicle in Polson Park at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday. RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says a man on a bike stole the lady's purse from the vehicle's front seat. "The victim tried to stop him but was unsuccessful. She was not hurt during this theft," says Molendyk. He says the suspect was described to be a Caucasian man in his early 20s. "He was described as about 5’2” tall with a slim build, wearing a black ball cap and a dark knit V-neck sweatshirt that might have had white lettering or trim on it." Molendyk says the suspect took off running with the purse towards the railway tracks. "The police dog was called, however, the suspect was not located."
