RCMP Drugs Arrests

The RCMP are hailing the arrest of a second Vernon man in connection with a mega seizure of cocaine almost two weeks ago in Saskatchewan. They say officers from the federal Southeast Drug Section arrested a 23-year-old suspect in Vernon on Wednesday. At the same time, they say three search warrants were executed at three locations in Vernon, resulting in the seizure of three firearms, a large amount of cash, electronic devices and computers. Police say the unnamed suspect faces drugs charges and that the arrest follows a ``lengthy drug trafficking investigation'' that stretched across BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. On March 26th, 23-year-old Vernon man Troy Swanson was arrested by police in Swift Current. Police say the car he was travelling in held 151 kilograms of cocaine. Swanson is being held pending a bail hearing on April 14th. He is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
