DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page.
When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
Seriously, $5,000 to the "Warren Peace Bunny Sanctuary" for the 44 bunnies they spayed/neutered since 2008? Is the SPCA out of business? How many different animal rights groups can one town support - SPCA, Vernon & District Animal Care Society, now this?
Does a real "Warren Peace" even exist, or is this just a play on the words "War and Peace"? Why was it necessary to rename the Society? Are they a registered non-profit?
Perhaps Vernon Council would be better off supporting a local food initiative like "Rabbit Stew for the Homeless" rather than forking over $5,000 taxpayer dollars to these rabid rabbit lovers.
Euthanasia, even if it costs $100 per bunny, would be cheaper and more effective.
