The Greater Vernon area appears headed to Stage 2 watering restrictions -- even before we've turned on our sprinklers. GVS water manager Al Cotsworth says a check of the snowpack in the hills above Duteau Creek last week showed that the levels are still extremely low and the area appears to be headed for a drought. He says while the March rain helped a little, levels are at the 5th lowest on record. Cotsworth is wasting no time in trying to conserve what water we have in our reservoirs. He will this week recommend the North Okanagan Regional District board approve stage two restrictions within Greater Vernon which would allow residents to water their lawns and gardens twice a week.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
