People with mobility issues are calling on the city to keep the road through Polson Park open. Norm Peters on behalf of Independent Living told council, shutting off the access would have a big impact on a lot of people who currently drive into the park and then travel a short distance to attractions like the pond. Peters told Kiss FM, "Having access to the park means being able to get to all the areas of the park, not just the front gate. We want them to keep the road access open because at least you would have a hard surface for your wheelchair or walker." The city is considering two designs for the popular green space, one of which calls for the road to be closed-off to all but service vehicles.A public input session on the park will be held June 24 at 5:30 at the Vernon Rec Centre Auditorium with a formal presentation on the concept designs at 7pm.
DON QUIXOTE VS. CITY HALL When an American gets mad, he says "where's my Gun". When a Canadian gets pissed off he says "Where is my pen, I'm going to send a letter to the EDITOR". When the EDITOR won't publish his letter he sets up his own BLOG page. When I received enough support to get a Council Seat the dogma of the establishment became : "Better to have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside pissing in." (Only time will tell !)
