Canwest News Service July 2, 2010 7:03 AM

Fed up with goose poop painting the trails of a popular park, a city in Oregon state has resorted to killing the iconic Canadian birds. According to U.S. media reports, 109 Canadian geese were taken from Drake Park in Bend, Ore. and asphyxiated with carbon dioxide. City officials attempted to control the burgeoning goose population through other means for some time before resorting to a cull. Reports suggest the bird meat will be donated to local food banks.
